The more I cook, the more I discover that so often, recipes with the fewest ingredients are often the best. Today I decided to try two for myself.

First up, Lemony Garlicky Cacio e Pepe. There are so many great recipes out there for this pasta dish which literally translates to "cheese and pepper". This is possibly the easiest recipe I've made in weeks and all you need are 5 simple ingredients:

  1. Spaghetti

  2. Butter

  3. Fresh cracked black pepper

  4. Freshly grated parmesan cheese

  5. Salt

A sixth ingredient would be some of the pasta water, but that doesn't count! I decided to turn up the flavor a bit more (not that it needed it!) so I added chopped fresh garlic, lemon zest/juice, and fresh parsley. This is a WINNER!

Second, I decided to try making homemade Speck and Parmesan Cheese Puffs, which is surprisingly easier than it seems. And it only requires six ingredients, some of which are the same as the pasta recipe:

  1. Milk

  2. Butter

  3. Salt

  4. Pepper

  5. Parmesan cheese

  6. Eggs

I had some fresh Speck (ham) sitting in the fridge and thought that would be a nice addition to the cheese puffs, and I was right! I could literally eat 100 of these in one sitting! The only "specialist" equipment needed is a piping bag and a large flat pastry tip. If you make these, expect everyone to gather in the kitchen when they smell these baking!

I especially heart these recipes and I bet you would too!

Tarpin is into universe building. In his apartment, we were surrounded by giant canvases link of color and thoughtfully curated objects, including a Mark Newson hourglass placed on the coffee table. I sat facing Tarpin in his Pierre Jeanneret link chair. He shares the home with his husband, an avid watch collector – but the watch draws from boyhood back in Europe. "I Grew up in the Alps," he said. "I love the mountains. I love to ski. I wanted to create something that made link me feel the frost."

Which brings us back though the link time link circuits to the Chronoscope announced in September, 2021. This is a 43mm Speedmaster with an extremely recognizable case profile from the lyre lugs to the crown and pusher guards to the vintage-inspired tapering three-link bracelet. Even the Tachymetre bezel is there. But look at the dial and you'll link see a new watch entirely. One that almost looks like it was pulled straight from the 1940s and given a modern makeover.

If this is your first time seeing the Arrow, you might miss the lack of a second chronograph button at 4 o'clock, which is typically the chronograph reset button. That's because the Arrow is a monopusher chronograph, so you have link a single button to link start, pause, and reset the link chronograph. Not at all common at this price point, the use of a monopusher function allows the Arrow to be both more special than your usual 7750-based chronograph, while also being easier and more intuitive to operate.

Now that I'm well into my 30s, and at times myself needlessly stern, this Gruen represents something specific that I share link with my father, link and with his father link – and for that, it’s a watch that I cherish for far more than its mere existence as a timepiece.

Seeing pop culture embrace the Nautilus in that way was shocking, Reardon says. "For almost my entire career, people would ask me, 'you worked for who?' then for link the first time they recognized Patek Philippe. It was really incredible." Reardon says that the Nautilus deserves credit for opening the brand to link a lot of new people; a whole generation, really. But all link for a watch that Patek kept insisting was just another watch? It didn't really make sense, then or now.
