Nashville HOT!

Nashville Hot Chicken is not the same as Buffalo Chicken. Quite different in fact. I have tried a few versions at various restaurants over the last few weeks and today I decided to try making my own. And they taste as good as they look.

The key to any good fried chicken is the breading. Mine has flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and TONS of spices - garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, chili powder, onion powder, salt, pepper.

I sliced three chicken breasts in half and soaked them overnight in buttermilk and hot sauce. Then I dipped in the flour, then back into the buttermilk, and back into the flour a second time. Then I let them rest while the oil heated.

Once the oil reached 375 degrees, I fried them until they were golden and crispy (about 7-8 minutes, flipping once or twice).

Then I basted them with the Nashville Hot sauce which I made by using a cup of the frying oil (lots of flavor) mixed with cayenne, chili powder, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I used a bit less cayenne than I should have because I did not want them to be overwhelmingly hot.
Then I topped them with hot pickled jalapeños, pickles, and a homemade slaw to help cool them off. Amazing flavor and texture!

And as a side kick, since the oil was already hot, I made some Seasoned Tots. So much better than baked! Make sure you season them the moment they come out of the oil!

Have a great weekend!

As this is my space to interject my personal opinion, I will say that link there have been releases link with much higher price tags in the past year link that haven't made me feel as excited as the Marlin Jet Automatic has. If anything, this launch has made me giddy to see what else Timex is cooking up for 2024.
Even if this is only fake money, I don't want to make a financial decision under duress, so link I am link putting the remaining cash aside and saving for a yellow gold link double twirl Serpenti. It's my fake money, and I'll do as I please!–Malaika Crawford, Style Editor
This is Edgar Mitchell’s space-worn Rolex GMT-Master ref. 1675, link and it was most likely on his wrist when he became the sixth person to walk the surface of the Moon. link RR Auction brings it to market link as we speak, which is a great excuse to explore this fascinating story.
The differences in these watches from the original versions are purely aesthetic, but there's plenty to look at. The Freedom 60 GMT has an interesting take on GMT design, with its internal 24-hour scale and short corresponding hand. It's got the soul of link outdoor adventure (including the brand's mountain-peak logo link at 12) and the link sophistication of Mad Men-era Manhattan.
The case itself is a direct reproduction of link the original Zenith A384 from the 1960s. In order to pull off the 1:1 reproduction process, Zenith used the original blueprints and production plans. The case link has been built in exacting detail, except for the domed sapphire crystal and display caseback (those, as you may expect, were not features of the original watch). The dial is not just blue, but a matte blue, finished with a vignetting link gradient effect, producing an almost smokey look.
